Trouble in theGroup

After thwarting an ambush and discovering the Xavier family's involvement in what seemed to be an assassination attempt, the party returns to Vorden's parents' estate. Tensions run high within the group, particularly between Sinas and Alinora, whose constant attempts to one-up each other are causing strain. Johnathan's frequent thefts add to the friction, frustrating Vorden. Thejun and Shadow feel that some members of the party are not taking their situation seriously.

The group hatches a plan to invite the Xavier family to a dinner party, allowing them to sneak into the Xavier home and search for evidence. They head to the library to gather information, such as blueprints of the Xavier estate. However, tensions rise as Johnathan immediately starts picking pockets, jeopardizing the plan.

Johnathan manages to acquire a magical card granting access to a back room, and invites Alinora to join him in searching for information. While Shadow keeps watch, Thejun looks for blueprints, Sinas prays, and Vorden gets sidetracked searching for information about a lost stone of great power. Alinora and Johnathan find the information they need, but encounter the librarian near the exit. Using magic, Alinora knocks books off a shelf to distract the librarian and then creates the illusion of an occult symbol to convince her it was a ghost. Recognizing the symbol as one of great evil, Vorden becomes worried. Sinas pretends to dispel the ghost mark while Alinora removes the illusion.

The situation escalates when Johnathan is caught with the librarian's pass, prompting her to call the guards. As the guards begin questioning the party, Johnathan makes a run for it, sparking a chase. Alinora disguises herself as Johnathan to create confusion, while Sinas attempts to assist the rogue. Frustrated with the illegal activity, Vorden tries to help the guards capture Johnathan. The situation deteriorates as more city guards flood the streets, determined to capture the group.

The group's actions have put them in a precarious situation, with tensions running high and the city guards on high alert. Their plan to gather information has succeeded, but at the cost of increased scrutiny and potential danger.
