Trial of the Grim Forge

Quack! gave chase as the old dwarf thief ran away. Blueterion, Aust, and Shadow had been in this situation before and headed for the closest tavern. Morisha, not wanting to see any serious harm come to Quack! followed him but was in no mood for running. The dwarf was faster than any dwarf Quack! had encountered before but he managed to catch up to him. It was then that the confederates of the dwarf started hurling stones down at Quack!. Morisha tired evening the odds with a eldritch blast but this only made her a target as well.

The dwarf ran again and Quack! followed disappearing from Morisha's sight as she dealt with the people throwing roof tiles and rocks at her. It turned out to be an ambush and Quack! had run right into it. Instead of exacting vengeance on the dwarf Quack! was now fighting for his life. Morisha managed to get away from the stone throwers and went looking for Quack! she caught sight of him just in time to watch him get badly wounded and collapse on the ground. Morisha ran towards Quack! and fired another eldritch blast at the dwarf. The dwarf also quite wounded turned and ran. Morisha healed Quack! who was on deaths door, and the two of them went to find the others.

The others had found a wonderful tavern called Wolfgang's Kitchen Grill. They all ordered food and it was some of the best food they had ever had. They enjoyed the rest until Morisha and Quack! showed up. The owner of the tavern, Wolfgang, was clearly not happy with the gang known as the Grim Forge and the leaders Org and Norg. The town wanted the gang out, and appeared ready to reward any who could manage the task.

The group found out that the Grim Forge ran trials every week for new members and tomorrow was trail day. The first trial was completing an obstacle course in a set amount of time. Everyone but Quack! joined the trial in hopes that as many as possible could make it. Blueterion was impressive and beat all other contenders, she would not have to do the other two trials she would become a member of the Grim forge. The rest still had two trials to get through.
