The Battle for Relagwall
Session 19
TROLLSKULL SYNDICATE

Maurice explained how his father had found out that Maurice was actually the son of Stranax, and that his blood was needed as a sacrifice to raise the Faneara's father back from the dead. Maurice did not think the story true about his mother cheating on his father was true but he overheard Faneara and his father talking about the sacrifice and it was then he decided to flee his home. Queen Maryken informed the group that an adventuring group calling themselves the Loose Cannons had come from Relagwall where Lord Milgrod was laying siege to the city. His plans were to take the Relagwall and then turn his attention to Princess Sameria. The Loose Cannons had come with gifts from a pacifist beholder named Xergomorgoplex. Xergorgoplex sent a note explaining that he had a vision and that unless the Trollskull Syndicate defeated Lord Milgrod the princess was doomed.
Xergomorgoplex, though a pacifist, said that he had arranged for the cities armies to attack when the group were to face Lord Milgrod. This would give them the best chance of defeating the evil vampire king. The group agreed to go and once again Queen Maryken was able to use her teleportation circle to transport the group close to the city. Maurice stayed behind and the Queen said she would keep him safe. Morthos did not want to be parted from his boyfriend but knew he had to in order to keep Maurice safe. The group left, and Morthos vowed that Lord Milgrod would die by his hand.
Outside Relagwall Lord Milgrod's army laid siege to Relagwall, with the soldiers doing their best to defend the wall. They were fierce, but tired and the vampire thralls among Milgrod's army did not need sleep or rest. The vampires were small in number but their persistent attacks were wearing the defenders down. Soon the main body of Lord Milgrod's army would attack, they were not vampires but the fresh troops would have and advantage.
The Trollskull syndicate located the the command tent behind the main lines of the soldiers and then planned their attack. They caught Milgrod and his soldiers by surprise with fireballs and the effective use of a cloud of daggers spell. Soon Morthos faced Milgrod but the vampire King was far more powerful than any of the group had suspected. Badly injured the group fought Milgrod and his soldiers. Milgrod badly wounded looked to flee, when Morthos stared at the undead creature and said "why don't you just die". His words laden with magic were the final blow, Lord Milgrod was defeated.
To ensure the vampire king's death Leomarvis had Fleshripper eat Lord Milgrod, and the group burned his remains, and those of his vampire guards. Morthos was relieved, Maurice was safer now, but he would not be completely safe until Faneara was dead.
