Shadow in a Tapestry

Shadow was on his own exploring the tower and looking for treasure. He wondered for a moment if he was unnecessarily endangering himself but decided the risk was worth it if he managed to find some treasure. He searched the next room finding a few coins but nothing extraordinary, he went back out into the hall and started walking towards the end. Then he heard a couple of voices coming from a hallway that intersected the one he was in. He moved up to the corner of the wall to listen to what they were saying. There were two men, and they were looking for two others. Shadow assumed it was the two men that they had encountered earlier. One was dead and he was not sure about the other. He decided he needed to get back to the group but as he turned a tapestry hanging on the wall beside him wrapped around him and started squeezing.

The two men heard Shadow struggling and seemed to assume that he was one of the men they were looking for. One of the men hack at the carpet which of course injured Shadow as well. Then Shadow heard a scream from one of the men and panic entered the other man's voice. With a sudden thrust Shadow pulled away from the tapestry, one of the two men was caught in the tapestry that had been hanging on the opposite wall. For a moment Shadow thought about helping the two men, but then he remembered they were Frodnonag's men, perhaps these men had been present when his home was destroyed. Shadow turned and sprinted away. He would go find the rest of the group.

He found the note in the dining room and went up the stairs. Like Aust before him Shadow found the trap the hard way. He was badly injured when the rest of the group came into the room to check on the noise. Shadow was badly injured so the group gave him some of the healing potions they had found looting the 8th floor. With most of the things they needed for the ceremony the group went to the Arch mage's private chambers. There Honkess took hold of the bow of Mercy. Honkess took the bow to the side and sat on the floor. The others searched the room while she tried to attune with the legendary artifact.

Shadow rested while Blueterion, Aust and Morisha gathered the supplies they needed and of course looked for more treasure. Honkess at last attuned with the bow and she became wreathed with flames, the bow burned a brand into her hand. It was through the brand that Honkess became bonded to the bow. The group moved into the ritual magic chamber, but as they were going towards it they could hear voices in the halls. They were looking for the group.

The group barricaded the door to the ritual chamber and Aust set the ritual items and Pryndor's crystal inside the arcane circle on the floor. He flipped through the summoning tomb and did his best reciting the magical incantations. With luck he would finish before Frodnonag got through the door.
