Is that my Eye?

The elation of Norbert's victory over the oni known as Vitr was short lived. Ngarius took the group to the castle to see the oni King. King Hryatta was a giant blue oni, larger than any of the oni that the group had seen before. Leomarvis and Norbert interrupted King Hryatta the and then got into an argument about who interrupted him first and who was the rudest. The two heroes found themselves sitting in cells beneath the castle before they finished their argument. The rest of the group did their best to assure the the oni king that it was only some exuberance due to Norbert's amazing victory. King Hryatta decided to let the heroes spend a night in his cells to cool off but still agreed to help the group. In fact it was the Queen Maryken that provided the assistance.

Queen Maryken told the group, those not in prison cells, that the newly anointed Queen Faneara was searching for a man named Maurice, the son of lord Miligrod. She and some of her army had sailed to Iron Port where after a short siege, and attacks by the Ashen Manticore, Queen Faneara had spread her kingdom. Her troops were spread across the Fire Island in search of Maurice. Morthos trembled but he tried to hide his reaction, he had to save Maurice.

"Well if we want to stop Faneara we probably should find this Maurice guy before she does" said Morthos acting nonchalant. His inside were churning as he feared for the man that he loved. He would have to find the right time to tell the group, about his connection to Maurice or rather how they loved each other. Fortunately Queen Maryken decided to allow the group to use her teleportation portal which could take them to the city of Firefield. Firefield was still free but the siege would come soon. The group had limited time to find Maurice and get back into the city before Faneara's troops laid siege to the city.

The Queen gave Morthos a key and a coin. The key would lock the house of the portal and the coin would allow them to use the portal to return to Amago. The Queen warned the group that the house was magically warded and that using anything but the key to get back in might kill them. Norbert and Leomarvis lamented their situation and realized there whole argument had been silly, through the bars of the cells they did their best to hug. They were friends again.

The next morning Norbert and Leomarvis were escorted from the cells to Queen Maryken's small magic tower on the castle grounds. Inside the group waited for them, and were happy to have them back in their ranks. The Queen activated the teleportation portal and the group stepped through. They left the city of Firefield and started towards the city of Blacklow, Queen Maryken's informants believed this Maurice fellow might be heading to Blacklow to find passage on a ship south.

In the town of Khert the group decided to stop for the night and search the streets looking for anybody that matched Maurice's description. Bob was walking through the streets when he noticed some elven men in black leather armour bearing red symbol of a crescent moon with a sword intersecting it. These two were from the same group that had not so long ago attacked him. A short time later Bob passed a lone drunken elf with the red crest, he was wearing Bob's eye on a necklace. Bob inquired about the crest and found out the man belonged to the Red Night Cabal, a group of mercenaries. Bob then paid an exorbitant fee to get his eye back. Once the man left Bob carefully lifted his mask and put the eye back into the empty socket. The magic of the eye surged through him again, he could see as he once did.

The group met at an inn after not finding Maurice. As they sat to eat dinner a voice called "Morthos!" with a sense of excitement. The group turned to see a man matching the description of Maurice approaching them. Morthos got up and he and Maurice embraced and kissed. Morthos turned to the group and said, "I guess we have found Maurice". He would have some explaining to do.
