Argus and the Wolf

The group had reached Irongate with a sense of loss. Sure they had defeated Killrose, but the death of Vera and the potential death of Vorrezenex was still weighing heavy on them. They met Kimeren as they entered the city and the King's adviser led them to see the King and Queen Maryken. There they found out that King Krull was leading an army over the mountains to attack Relagwall. General Grimwinter now King Grimwinter was leading his new army south so that the two armies could take out Relagwall together. Once that was done the full weight of Faneara's forces would no doubt head straight for Irongate.

King Galgred and Queen Maryken believed the only way to disrupt their plans was for a group to try and take out King Krull and his dragon. They asked the Trollskull Syndicate if they would be that group. It was Leomarvis, Argus and Morthos that immediately said yes. The rest of the group took some convincing, but eventually all of them agreed. The King agreed to send Kimeren with them, she was not a fighter but she was a good healer. The group collected some supplies and headed out the next morning.

Kimeren lead the group through some dwarven tunnels, old mines that created a web of paths though the mountains. The pathways allowed the people of Irongate to move faster through the mountains than going over them. The tunnels had allowed the cities soldiers to out maneuver foes and safeguard the city on many occasions. Now once again they were being used in hope of the Trollskull Syndicate being able to defeat Krull and his Green Dragon Xolradas.

The group left the tunnels the next day, and now started north towards where they expected Krull's army. They had no plan yet as how to deal with the evil king and his dragon but they were determined to figure it out. In the evening the group stopped at the village of Flinndale. In the tavern the villagers were speaking about a massive beast, part wolf part demon, and were looking to go hunting it. Argus's eyes lit up, perhaps this was the beast he had long sought. He told the group he would be back but he had to find the creature, never one to let a friend travel alone Leomarvis, Morthos, and Norbert went with him.

They tracked the creature to a cave, and Argus went inside. There he found a creature half timber wolf, half hellhound. The creature was as large as a bear with glowing red eyes. Argus held the creatures stare and then spoke to it, warrior to warrior, his voice firm and full of respect. The others watched as Argus and the creature circled the cave, the wolf growling and Argus seemingly answering. When it was over the creature called Argus friend, and agreed to travel with him for a time. Together they went back to the village got the rest of the group and set out to find a dragon.
